Bridges Between

Join us in supporting women’s education in Nepal.

OUR MISSION

Bridges Between recognizes the hardships women in Nepal face every single day. We strive to inspire confidence, courage and resilience through education and access to resources that will dramatically improve their quality of life.

Education. We know it’s the key to breaking the barriers that keep women from reaching their full potential. The introduction of education, skills training and access to health initiatives, leads to increased income. This in turn leads to healthier families and opens doors to greater opportunities for present and future generations. We collaborate with local organizations to offer solutions that respect and embrace positive traditional customs. We are committed to a development model that is longstanding, inclusive and empowering for the communities we serve.

Our Programs

Supporting women’s education means we collaborate with Nepali women and their families. We engage in exploratory, sharing workshops to seek solutions that best fit their needs. Together, we have developed training and formal education programs that respect tradition and culture and are best suited to the already burdening workload of local women.

  • Skillful Means Art Cooperative

Used traditional artforms to create economic opportunity in rural areas.

  • Shree Shradha Women's School

Offering literacy and formal education to women in Kathmandu.

  • Bright Start Society

Identifying, networking and offering resources to women affected by disabilities.

OUR IMPACT

We discuss the big issues and take action.

Through ongoing conversations with women across Nepal, Bridges Between has identified several areas where we can generate large-scale and positive change in the personal lives of Nepali women, their families, and their local communities. We have had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in their environment, giving us a unique perspective and allowing us to closely monitor these impact areas and build programs that really work.

“With the money I made at the art coop, I hired a plowman for the wheat harvest. My children have all gone to the city for work and my husband and I are getting too old to manage it alone. Even when I am too old to work in the fields, I can still make baskets and sell them. We will have income even when we are very old.”
