2017 Volunteer Trip Itinerary
Nov 8 – Volunteers arrive in Kathmandu throughout the day. All volunteers will be met at the airport and driven to the guest house
Nov – 9 Tuk-tuk tour of Durbur Palace Square and supply run in Kathmandu
Nov 10 – Fly from Kathmandu to lower Solukhumbu followed by an easy (4-5 hour) walk to our first village school
Nov 11 – 15 – Volunteer in Bridges Between schools. Take part in everyday, agrarian life-ways and Buddhist traditions.
Nov 16 – Fly from Solukhumbu to Kathmandu
Nov 17 Friday – Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu
Nov 18 – Bridges Between volunteers host informational booth at the Nepal Music Festival
Nov 19 Sunday – Flights out of Kathmandu
* Start and finish dates will not change however expect scheduled event days/times to adjust based on
festivals, teacher schedules, flights and weather.
Volunteers should feel comfortable walking 5 hours with intermittent rest stops and be able to walk up hills/down hills on rocky, uneven paths for up to 90 minutes at 9000 feet of elevation.
All travel, accommodations and activities while in Nepal will be organized and led by Bridges Between.
Volunteers should expect to pay between $760 – $890 for basic travel, meals and accommodations while in Nepal and will need to book personal travel to Kathmandu to arrive before the program start date. Bridges Between will assist with travel logistics and travel insurance arrangements if needed.
